UGANDA
Partnering Organization: Ability Sports Africa (ASA)

Ability Sports Africa (ASA) is a nonprofit organization in Uganda dedicated to promoting social inclusion through sports, adaptive games, and creative arts. Their mission is to empower individuals of all abilities by building self-esteem, life skills, and community connections—both in schools and in local neighborhoods. ASA is known for its pioneering “Reverse Inclusion” model, where children and youth with disabilities take the lead in activities, inviting non-disabled peers to join. This approach shifts perceptions, builds confidence, and celebrates ability over limitation. The organization was founded by Musema Faruk, a visionary leader and Kanthari alumnus whose personal experiences with stigma inspired him to use sports as a tool for unity and empowerment. Through programs like the ASA Junior Premier League, ASA brings together over 300 boys and girls, with and without disabilities, to compete, learn, and grow together. Since 2024, Just Jerseys has partnered with ASA to strengthen the ASA Junior Premier League and its mission of inclusive play. We have provided uniforms for more than 300 players, ensuring that every child could take the field with pride and a sense of belonging. Our support also included thousands of dollars toward match equipment—supplying footballs, repairing goal frames, and funding cameras to capture and share the league’s moments. These contributions have enhanced the league’s visibility, boosted morale among players, and improved the quality of matches. By investing in both resources and representation, our partnership helps sustain ASA’s transformative work and creates lasting opportunities for young athletes in Uganda.
